How to Match Your Window Trims and Siding Color

More often than not, designers and contractors remind homeowners how it’s essential to match your home fixtures with the same aesthetic. Choosing the right aesthetic for your home can be overwhelming with the different styles available. While this is something that people should also pay attention to, here are ways you can do to ensure your window trims blend with your siding color.

  • Always consider the style of your home. Remember that everything always focuses on the front of the actual house for whether or not to use matching styles. Consult with your contractors and designers about which material best fits the entirety of your property.
  • Using matching and contrasting colors. If you want to give your home a classic look, select complementary colors for your doors, double-hung windows, siding, and the trim work around the siding’s edges. However, according to most experts, you can also highlight your home’s best features by contrasting tones.
  • Use trim colors wisely. You should be more careful of your selection if you plan to use at least two exterior colors in your home. To achieve a harmonious home exterior look, use the darkest shade on your first floor, the medium shade on the second floor, and the lightest on the third floor. This method can help keep your house from looking too heavy on the top.
  • Using shutters. Replacement window installation teams say a window shutter is a solid window covering vertical stiles and horizontal rails. Installing shutters is a great way to add style and texture to a house. Just ensure the house still looks attractive to the casual observer, especially if you plan to list your home down the line.
  • Have fun. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to picking colors. Your home’s exterior should be a reflection of your own unique identity. Have fun with it and let your personality shine.
